Okay, so I’m now a proud owner of yet another console.. My first Playstation, in particular a Playstation 3… Hey now, this doesn’t mean we’re going to become one of them modern gaming sites which are a dime a dozen ;) I should add, that I scored a second PC Engine controller (2 to go, till I can host some Bomberman ’94 parties), and an unopened boxed copy of SwordQuest: Fireworld for the Atari 2600. As much as it’s not the rarest one out of the series, I did manage to get a bargain. Alright, it’s Retrospekt after all, so lets talk retro!!

Need to show off that you’re old-school with wallpaper? Well there’s that one, and plenty more slick looking classic-gaming themed wallpapers for your iPad available HERE. Thanks to local 8-bit artist Hugepedlar for the link, and of course for making these slick looking wallpapers!!

Alright, here’s something that will whet every fighting fan’s whistle.. or at least those that do appreciate games that don’t include the words “Street” and “Fighter” in the game title.. Warner Bros. Interactive has announced, that Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is coming out in the next couple of weeks on PSN and XBLA as well as Games for Windows. Now, this collection will include Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. There will be online play, and also PDP Interactive will be selling official joysticks exclusively for this release. Both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the joystick will include download codes for you to use to download MKAK. The pricing of the download will be around 800 Microsoft Points on XBLA, and around AU$10 on PSN. I’m bloody pumped!

After some snazzy looking furniture for the house? Why not a Pouf-Man. What looks like an amazing quality product, you get a Pac-Man shaped footrest, and a regular square “pill” footrest as well. Unfortunately, showrooms are in the US and Europe only, for more information on where and how to get one? Visit the website at qayot.it.

And finally, of all 8bit computers which are being emulated on the iOS platform, not that I’m complaining, but I’m just curious as to why there’s so many dedicated to the ZX Spectrum. Either way, here’s another one which at least is universal, and lets you swap between full keyboard, or joystick. It’s called Spectaculator, and there’s a free version and a paid version (AU$1.99) on the App Store.
